Russian Lips is a specific Lip Filler technique that shapes the lips and cupid’s bow into a subtle heart shape with more volume near the centre. This style of Lip Filler, also known as a ‘Lip Flip’, widens and lifts the lip, rather than adding excessive volume.

Named after the distinctive heart shaped lips of traditional nesting Russian Dolls (Babushka Dolls), Russian Lip Filler gives the lips a flatter, higher appearance than traditional Lip Filler.

With this new style of Lip Filler, we use specially formulated hyaluronic acid injections and an advanced injecting technique to add height and plumpness to the lips, contouring them into a heart shape.

We advise all clients use Crème Rescue Serum for 2 weeks before treatment to give us the best possible canvas to work from. Crème Rescue Serum should also be used immediately after treatment to speed up healing and as part of your everyday skincare routine for ongoing skin maintenance.

Tracie will complete an in-depth facial analysis and discuss your beauty goals with you. Tiny droplets of dermal filler are then delivered as a series of injections into the lips to create the lip shape you desire. The Russian Lip Filler technique differs from traditional Lip Fillers as the filler is injected vertically into multiple injection points and dragged upward from the base to the top of the lip, rather than horizontally as with traditional lip augmentation. For this Lip Filler style most of the filler is focused around the centre of the lips and cupid’s bow to achieve the heart-shaped look. Following the filler injection Tracie will gently massage the area the ensure the filler is spread evenly.

We will always build up the volume slowly and gradually, ensuring you end up with the size and shape you want.

Russian Lips require a longer treatment time due to an increase of product needed to achieve the desired look. Traditionally, lip filler treatment can take any time between 15-30 minutes. However due to the fact that more filler is used, more time is taken to inject which can increase treatment time to 30-45 minutes.

New clients often ask how painful fillers are. This really depends on each individual and the fillers required. We use the latest filler product with local anaesthetic in the filler itself – so treatments are now virtually pain free. We also apply a numbing cream before and during the treatment to minimise any discomfort.  For nervous clients we are able to offer a ‘dental infusion’ for a nominal extra charge of £30.

We will provide a soothing ice pack if needed and a mini Crème Rescue facial after treatment.

If you’ve previously had traditional lip filler, you may need to have all existing filler dissolved before you have the Russian Lip procedure to ensure no filler is left within the border of the lips.

Clients usually experience minimal discomfort or downtime with the Russian Lip Filler treatment. There may be some swelling and bruising but this will usually subside in 24-48 hours.

Results usually usually last 6-12 months may be longer for some brands of fillers.
