What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
+
Anti-Wrinkle Injections relax facial muscles and smooth lines and wrinkles on the overlying skin for a fresh, natural, rejuvenated and youthful appearance. They erase or soften dynamic facial lines and wrinkles caused by expressions, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines, bunny lines and frown lines.
They can also be used to perform a non-surgical temporary brow lift, jawline slimming and treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
Wrinkles are caused by facial muscle movement. For the muscle to move, a neurotransmitter sends a signal to that muscle. Anti-Wrinkle Injections work by depleting that neurotransmitter and preventing your muscles from moving which reduces the wrinkles created by certain facial expressions.
The treated muscles gradually regain function, and generally return to their former appearance three to four months after treatment. Muscles can be treated repeatedly as part of an ongoing anti-ageing routine to maintain the smoothed appearance.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections are currently the most popular cosmetic aesthetic procedure available and when injected by an expert practitioner they are a highly effective, safe, non-invasive way of smoothing wrinkles and reversing the signs of ageing.
Treatment Areas:
- Crows feet
- Frown & worry lines
- Uneven eyebrows

- Gummy smile
Why have Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
+
Sun damage, stress, and facial expressions can all create lines and wrinkles as we age that don’t disappear even when your face is at rest. These fine lines and wrinkles are a visible sign of ageing and the number one common skin complaint as we get older.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections blur, soften and erase lines and wrinkles for a younger, fresher appearance.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections can also be used as part of your regular anti-ageing routine as they stop us from using the problem facial muscles – preventing deeper and new wrinkles appearing!
If you decide to stop having Anti-Wrinkle Injections the effects will fade gradually and naturally over time.
What do I need to know about the Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatment process?
+
Proper preparation for your Anti-Wrinkle Injections can reduce any bruising and improve the results. We advise all clients avoid alcohol the day before the treatment and use Crème Rescue Serum for 2 weeks before treatment to give us the best possible canvas to work from. Crème Rescue Serum should also be used immediately after treatment to speed up healing and as part of your everyday skincare routine for ongoing skin maintenance.
After discussing with you your beauty goals and problem areas, Tracie will ask you to tense specific facial muscles so that she can assess which muscles cause your wrinkles to show. This helps her to precisely target the treatment, which will be injected in a series of targeted microinjections using a very fine needle.
New clients often worry that they will look ‘frozen’ following treatment or be unable to move their face. Please be reassured that we aim for incredibly natural results where you are still able to show the full range of facial expressions – just without any wrinkles!
The treatment itself is quick and painless and an anaesthetic is not necessary.
What is recovery like after Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
+
There is no ‘down-time’ following Anti-Wrinkle Injections and you will be able to go about your normal activities immediately following the treatment. The only exception is avoiding strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours after treatment, avoiding lying flat for 3 hours after the treatment and avoiding rubbing the treatment area for 24 hours.
You may have some small bumps or bruising at the injection sights, but these are usually unnoticeable.
It’s important to note that the effects of Anti-Wrinkle injections are not immediate, and the final results may take two weeks to show. Tracie Giles London will arrange a review after two weeks where Tracie can check the results and make any small adjustments.
Results usually last three – four months at which point the treatment can be repeated if desired.

Bespoke Aesthetics Consultations
At Tracie Giles London we offer bespoke aesthetics consultations where clients can meet with Tracie Giles to create a unique treatment plan that achieves their beauty goals and ‘turns back the clock’ if possible.
This face-to-face consultation is completely ‘client focused’ to help explore which advanced aesthetic treatments can work for you, including an in-depth explanation of the available treatments on offer, what they involve and which we believe will be best suited to you. During the consultation Tracie will discuss and assess your aspirations for areas of improvement, possible enhancements, and you will leave with a summary of realistic expectations for each procedure or skin protocol.
Often for clients aged of 30 – 60+, Tracie recommends that you bring a close up facial photo taken 10-20 years ago so that a detailed analysis can be completed to identify your extrinsic and intrinsic ageing pathway.
