Microblading vs. Eyebrow Tattooing | What’s the REAL difference?

Your eyebrows can totally transform your look. With the right symmetry, shape and style your eyebrows can frame your face in a way that enhances your features and highlights the eye area.

So, you’ve decided to leave your brows in the hands of the experts – excellent decision! Tracie Giles is the ‘Queen of Brows’ and with our team of expert technicians we offer the most comprehensive choice of Permanent Makeup Eyebrow Tattooing techniques in the industry. But which technique is right for you – Microblading or Digital Eyebrow Tattooing? And what is the difference?

Both Microblading and Digital Eyebrow Tattooing are forms of eyebrow tattooing, but different methods of implanting the pigment into the skin.

Microblading

With microblading, we manually use a specialised hand-held tool with a super fine blade to create very fine cuts into the skin which mimic the appearance of natural eyebrow hair. This is the ideal brow look for those who want an extra natural and soft effect with the pigment being placed into a higher layer of the skin. BUT Microblading is not suitable for all skin types.

Key points:

  • Uses a specialised handheld ‘microblade’
  • Super natural-looking, wispy brows
  • Not suitable for all skin types

Digital Eyebrow Tattooing

For Digital Eyebrow Tattooing, we use an electronically powered machine and a needle, which is more similar to a conventional tattoo (but less aggressive and doesn’t go as deeply).

We can achieve a wider range of effects with digital eyebrow tattooing such as shading, ombré and also super natural hairstrokes too.

Key Points:

  • Uses an electronically powered machine, handpiece and needle
  • Can achieve a wider range of shading effects

MYTH BUSTER: This is not the same as a conventional tattoo and we do not use tattoo ink. We use the same brow pigment as we use for Microblading – which has been specially designed for Permanent Make Up.

So which one is right for me?

BOTH are fabulous treatments for enhancing your brows whether you have plenty of hair or none at all. Really it depends on your preferred brow style and your skin type. Book a free consultation with Tracie Giles and your technician will discuss with you what the best option is for you.
