What To Expect At Your Permanent Makeup Appointment What To Expect At Your Permanent Makeup Appointment

Your Consultation

Every treatment at Tracie Giles London starts with a thorough consultation. This is your chance to meet your Artist, talk through your desired results, and ask any questions you may have. We’ll discuss everything from your skin type to your lifestyle and aesthetic goals, and recommend the most suitable technique and style for you. If you haven’t done one already, we’ll also carry out a patch test to make sure you don’t have any allergic reactions to the pigment and we’ll assess your skin to determine the best course of action.

Pre-Drawing & Mapping

Once you’re comfortable to go ahead and we’ve agreed on the direction and style of the treatment you have opted for , we’ll begin the pre-drawing process. This is when your Artist maps out the treatment area to design a shape that suits your unique facial features and enhances your natural beauty. You’ll be able to check the shape, make adjustments, and ensure you’re 100% happy before we begin the treatment. We don’t just do this for brows, but for all of our Permanent Makeup treatments, including Gloss & Go Lip Blush and Eyeliner too!

The Treatment

Now it’s time for the actual treatment! Your Artist will begin implanting pigment into the skin using a specialised Permanent Makeup device or manual tool, depending on the treatment. The sensation varies from person to person – some describe it as a light scratching, while others feel almost nothing at all. Rest assured that your Artist will take all measures available to keep you as comfortable as possible. Throughout the treatment they will work with precision and care to build up the pigment gradually, checking in with you throughout to ensure you’re happy with the progress and are as comfortable as possible.

Aftercare Guidance

Once the treatment is complete, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about aftercare. This is a key step in ensuring the best possible results and ensuring a smooth healing process. You’ll be given a detailed aftercare sheet and, if your Artist deems it necessary an ointment to apply to the area. Your Artist may also recommend Crème Rescue Serum which is our very own aftercare serum designed by Tracie herself to help lock in the new pigment and accelerate the healing process.  You may experience some minor redness, tenderness or swelling immediately after the treatment – this is totally normal and usually subsides within a couple of days. The colour will also appear more intense at first but will soften beautifully as the skin heals.

Your Retouch Appointment

All Permanent Makeup treatments at Tracie Giles London include a retouch appointment 4–12 weeks after your first session. This allows us to perfect the shape and colour, and make any adjustments necessary once the initial healing is complete. Your retouch appointment is essential for ensuring the best, most long-lasting results, so we recommend booking this in whilst you are at the clinic after your first appointment.
