The treatment
My initial appointment involved showing the clinic the current state of my eyebrows. Sparse and thin due to ageing – and never having been blessed with naturally full brows – it was recommended that I undergo the hyper-realism brows treatment.
Hyper-realism brows are a specialised form of eyebrow tattooing, using an advanced technique to create ultra-realistic, natural-looking brows. Unlike traditional 3D hairstroke brows, which tattoo individual hairstrokes, this method involves overlapping wispy strokes in a unique pattern to mimic the movement and direction of real eyebrow hairs. The intensity builds towards the centre of the brow, producing a hyper-realistic 3D effect. Less defined than other brow options, this treatment is ideal for achieving the fuller, fluffier brows currently in vogue. It is also particularly beneficial for those with little to no natural eyebrow hair, including individuals with alopecia or those undergoing chemotherapy.

As part of the two-stage treatment – carried out no more than 12 weeks apart – the initial session began with my technician, Hema, expertly mapping out my brows to ensure the most natural and flattering shape. Every stroke was meticulously placed in alignment with my natural hair growth, seamlessly blending with my existing brows to restore definition and shape without the need for daily makeup application.
The entire procedure took approximately 90 minutes from start to finish and, to my surprise, was virtually painless. The results were immediate, delivering a beautifully soft, hyper-realistic finish that subtly enhanced my facial symmetry and features. With minimal downtime, this treatment is the ultimate beauty fix – even perfect for an extended lunch break!
Aftercare
After around two weeks, as advised, my brows started to peel slightly. With the ink very much still there, my brows still looked better than ever, and I was excited to return for my top-up treatment. Eager for even more definition, I opted for a darker colour to ensure they looked more defined and weren’t ruined by foundation when applied.
This time the treatment was even quicker and weeks on I couldn’t be happier with my brows. It’s simplified my make-up routine, and on days when I don’t wear foundation, they are formed perfectly on my face.
